OBKA General Meeting the 6th of December 2016 by Ailbhe Gerrard

On the 6th of December 2016 Ailbhe Gerrard was the guest speaker. Ailbhe Gerrard’s -BROOKFIELD FARM- specialises in artisan food delivered direct to its customers. From a beautiful landscape running down to the shores of Lough Derg in Co. Tipperary she carefully produces delicious wild flower honey, farm made beeswax candles and tender lambs. Ailbhe spoke about the different types of Beekeeping methods she witnessed on her travels including the Ginza Honey Bee project in Japan’s Ginza district in Tokyo. Ailbhe also spoke about Brookfield Farm and her Hiveshare concept.A lively Q and A followed before Michael Gleeson proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of the society.
